The event that got me deeper into Social Media, Instagram, Vertical Videos and Content, and loads more.
The venue was the same as last year's The Industry Season 03. Millenium Dance Complex and Mod Club. I talked about the shock-and-awe during my first rodeo, but this year I am ready to take the bull by the horn.
This time the only difference are the people and the experience.
This year, we had something big cooking. We wanted to deliver a live show within the live show. Our production team rigged this wireless system that fed all the monitor displays inside Mod Club so that everyone inside can watch the difference scenes that happened from different locations inside and outside the club.
This was an team work intensive effort that had very little margin for error.
My contribution involved pre-production and post-production and these appeared in social media and on-screen displays within the club. Photography and Social Media was my main focus during this event and it was an opportunity to showcase my skills in animation and graphic design.
I created a variety of animations for the day-to-day announcements leading up to the event using assets from last year. I also made promotional animations based on videos and photos I took.
The year leading up to the event can be divided in multiple phases, 3 phases for the Elite intensive where training and selection for the roster selection for the main event was conducted. I had to travel to Montreal, Ottawa and back to Toronto to cover these 3 phases. It was surprisingly fun but the stress levels were at an all-time high.
These three locations were different from each other. Lighting and exposure requirements were all unique. So with these different lighting requirements, different camera settings was needed. Manual adjustment was required.
It was a fun year overall. I was able to work with Mark Samuels who later on hired me to shoot BTS for a Toronto Raptors video pitch. On that same location, I was able to meet with singer Tinashe.
